The 15-th Trade fair of confectionery industry SWEETS Ukraine 2009 took place on September 8-10, 2009. The Trade Fair was held in the framework of the All-Ukrainian Food Industry Week at the Kyiv International Exhibition Center.
Food Industry Week combines several largest industrial fairs under the one roof, these are the 18-th International Specialized Trade Fair of Equipment and Technologies for Food Processing Industry INPRODMASH’ 2009, the 10-th International Specialized Trade Fair of Packaging Equipment and Technologies UPAKOVKA’ 2009 and 14-th International specialized Trade Fair of drinks industry Alco+Soft' 2009 .
The organizers of the event are ACCO International company and “UkrKonditer” JSC.
As a central exhibition event of the Ukrainian sweets industry, SWEETS Ukraine gather confectionery industry and related sectors specialists.
Participants from Ukraine and foreign countries represent all categories of the confectionery industry: bakery products, food concentrates, extruder wares, preserved food, sweet diary products, bee-kipping products, diabetic confectioneries, raw materials, ingredients, confectionary accessories and packaging.
Closed tasting competition “Sweet Triumph” and confectionery package competition "Package Triumph" are held within the framework of the Fair.
Competitions have already become an integral part of the Fair, having their history and traditions. The aims of competitions are improvement of products quality and promotion of high-quality products at the market. Domestic and foreign producers and distributors are invited to participate in the competitions.
The expert jury consisting of industry professionals from “UkrKonditer” JSC, Derhspozhyvstandard of Ukraine (The State Committee of Ukraine for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy), Institute for Ecology and Toxicology, Design Institute, as well as chief technologists of the leading Ukrainian enterprises ensure the maximum accuracy decision.
SWEETS Ukraine awards were always the proof of high quality and are well regarded by consumers. Awarding ceremony will be held directly during the fair, making it possible for everybody to congratulate the winners.

A wide range of traditional chocolate, sugary and floury confectionery was demonstrated by leading domestic manufacturers:
ZAPORIZHYA CONFECTIONARY FACTORY, STRELA, Chernihiv confectionary plant, SIMFEROPOLSKA SWEETIES PLANT, DESNA, Confectionary factory, ODESSAKONDITER, KHERSON CONFECTIONERY FACTORY, ACTIV LTD, KIEV GRAD, etc.
Some novelties were demonstrated by ODESSAKONDITER that offered "Áîíñóàð" (Bonsuar) chocolate truffle candy, “Áîíñóàð" cream-champagne, "Tea Time" and "Coffee Break" biscuits.
AVESTA - fruit jelly with new flavors and different forms: "Ñîëíûøêî" (Solnyshko) in the form of pineapple rings, "Ôóíòèê" (Funtik) in the form of coins, "Ôèðìåííûé" (Firmenny) - cupola-shaped, also "Àññîðòè"(Assorti) chocolate jellies.
SIMFEROPOLSKA SWEETIES PLANT demonstrated new series of jelly confectionery "Ôðåø" (Fresh) – drinkable pasteurized jelly, containing 40% of natural juice, "Æåëü-Êîêòåéëü" (Zhel’-Kokteyl’) and "Ôðóòòè-Æåëü" (Fruitty Zhel’) – pasteurized jelly with natural juice in sticks.
Popular eastern sweets were traditionally demonstrated:
TM PRESTIGE demonstrated baklava of its own manufacture, ZOLOTOY VEK TM, Tri Star - peanut brittle with honey and halva, NECTAR offered halva in a broad assortment, KHERSON CONFECTIONERY FACTORY - marshmallow sticks. Eastern sweets were demonstrated by TURKISH SWEETNESS / Khalilova, Ukraine.
ROSMEN offered dietetic foodstuff novelties - "Çäîðîâüå" (Zdorovye) straws with poppy-seeds and sesame. STEVIASUN – presented production of "Çäîðîâàÿ êîíäèòåðñêàÿ" (Zdorovaya konditerskaya) TM: tasty and health-giving sweets for all the family, consisting of natural ingredients.
Wide range of nuts, seeds and dried fruits was offered by "Houz International" Company (the Netherlands), ARSENAL-PAK, ILIAS, ZOLOTOY VEK TM, Tri Star. ZLATOMED ÒÌ offered honey sweeties, meadow and steppe honey and honey in original packing - oaken, ash-tree and linden barrels.
Moreover, one shall mention packing production of KASKAD Company that demonstrated novelties of New Year's gift sets packaging – "Ñàíè" (Sani) package, etc. In May 2009, these produce was considered (by experts of “Packaging triumph” competition) to be the best New Year’s package.
