Over the years of their existence, INPRODMASH &  UPAKOVKA have deservedly acquired the status of  main exhibition events in the field of food processing and packaging technology of Ukraine, having proved their efficiency both for foreign and domestic exhibitors. They became a traditional bridge between the West and the East.

Annualy, fairs are supported by the State Food Department of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and are held within the framework of the Food Industry Week.

On the opening ceremony participants and guests were greeted by the deputy minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, deputy minister of theMinistry of agrarian policy of Ukraine,  director of the food industry department of the Ministry of Agrarian policy of Ukraine, and heads of branch departments and unions: director general of CJSC “Ukrpyvo”, director general of “Ukrhklebprom”, director general of CJSC “Ukrkonditer”, director general of “Ukrsol” association and other officials.

The organizer of the trade fairs – ACCO International exhibition company continues to cooperate with the Federal Ministry of Economy of Germany (BMWI), the Committee of German Economy on Exhibitions and Fairs (AUMA). In 2007, the Agreement on Fairs Support was concluded with the German Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (VDMA). Co-organizer of the fairs is IFWexpo Heidelberg GmbH Company.
Due to this successful cooperation and holding of the exhibition, world leaders of food machine-building and domestic enterprises have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the latest achievements in this field.

In her welcoming speech, Prime Minister of Ukraine Julia Tymoshenko emphasized that even in the condition of the international crisis the agroindustrial complex of Ukraine demonstrates stable growth rate. She also told that she is convinced that the technologies, that were demonstrated at the exhibition, are the best examples of equipment, packaging and merchandise and will undoubtedly find their buyers, promote international cooperation and raise competitive capacity of Ukrainian goods on the international market.

Minister of the agrarian policy of Ukraine Yuriy Melnik underscored the significance of present exhibitional events, namely the fact that they promote rise of the technical level and further integration of the agrarian sector of Ukraine in the world markets.

More than 185 companies from 13 countries (Austria, Belarus, Spain, Denmark, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia, France, Ukraine,  Switzerland and Lithuania) offered the full spectrum of equipment for food and processing industry: from cutting and processing to storage and packaging of finished articles, as well as ingredients, detergents and disinfectants, etc. Except for Ukrainian exhibitors, German exposition was large in number. Germany is the main partner of Ukraine in the field of food processing and packing equipment.

Despite the fact that as a result of crisis many participants had to reduce the area of their stands, business activity did not suffer.
The exhibition was visited by more than 4 thousand of experts, namely 47% were engaged in manufacture, 33% - in trade and 15% - in the non-manufacturing business. Most of them were regular customers.

It is very significant that a lot of enterprises, despite this hard period of economic crisis, had an opportunity not only to participate in the exhibition but also to prepare some special novelties. Participants had a chance to meet their partners and colleagues in order to discuss their problems and future prospects. That was more important than the size of stand area.

Most of the exponents demonstrated their novelties and some of them attracted attention to certain trends of their activities.
Business programme of the fairs touched upon the most pressing issues of the industry. It included panel discussions, express-seminars and presentations.

Ministry of Agrarian policy of Ukraine organized a round table on Conceptions project of national principal social program of stabilization and development of domestic baby food production for 2010-2014”. Deputy minister of the agrarian policy of Ukraine, director of the food industry department of the Ministry of Agrarian policy of Ukraine, director general of “Ukrkonservmoloko” and other branch specialists participated in it.

Concurrent holding of INPRODMASH & UPAKOVKA trade fairs under the aegis of  All-Ukrainian Food Industry Week that also included International Exhibition of Drinks Industry “ALCO + SOFT” and International Exhibition of Confectionery Industry “SWEETS Ukraine”, has significantly promoted the enhancement of exhibition’s efficiency and attracted branch specialists.

Comments of the participants about the exhibition 2009:

Marcyn Bogush, Director of the RDW sales department, "Schaller" Company
"I have a very positive attitude towards the exhibition, though I thought less people will be present. It should be mentioned that the quality of projects improved. The quality of preparation also improved because we are constantly afraid of something. That means that the results will be more convincing.
I liked the mood of my colleagues: cheerful, optimistic, good. As of the exposition of «Schaller" company, it is the first time when we participated without any equipment. Is there any sense in displaying equipment that everybody knows? If the manufacturer wants to demonstrate equipment, he should show it in operation – on the plant, but nor at the stand.

A lot of new ingredients and recipes were shown, but little equipment. Time changes everything and any exhibition brings positive results.”

Liubov Trohimchuk, “FOODSERVICE DV
"Of course, our reply on the question of “participation or nonparticipation” was affirmative. Surely, it is better to visit all the plants and discuss the nuances of cooperation on the spot, but sometimes we cannot do so. At the exhibition we met many representatives of different enterprises. That is why we expect good results and productivity. We, as food additives manufacturers, are glad to see our colleagues here”.

According to" Miasnoye Delo" magazine (¹ 9/2009)

Inprodmash & Upakovka – the best presentation of food industry

“…This year, more than 300 participants from 18 countries of the world took part in the Food Industry Week. "…Adjusting developed plans of programme to the market situation, producers have more time for development of new products and new facilities search. Actually, “Inprodmash & Upakovka “exhibition has become the informational place where enterprises can realize their plans for future. Nowadays, producers don’t have the opportunity to invest money into new equipment, but maybe it will become possible in a year. By the way, some exhibitors laid stress on the fact that the customer analyzes the correlation between price and quality before buying equipment. Nowadays, customers pay attention to the efficiency of invested funds but not to the prestige…”

“Harchovyk” newspaper, ¹18, 2009

“…The 18-th International specialized exhibition of equipment, technologies for food and processing Industry “Inprodmash’2009” and 10-th International specialized exhibition of equipment and materials for  packing “Upakovka’2009”, held in Kiev, was a great success..."

Nowadays, the exhibition is a meeting place of friends, who in spite of the business whirl did not miss the opportunity to meet each other and to discuss future plans.
